Your wedding should be as unique and beautiful as you are! For many couples, this means a meaningful and intimate day, spent with only their nearest and dearest. Luckily, we have so many intimate wedding venues in Vancouver – just ideal for free-spirited and laid-back couples looking for small wedding venues in BC with that little something extra.
Small weddings are often referred to these days as “micro weddings”. So what is considered a micro wedding? Generally, the term is used to describe a wedding with around 20-50 or fewer guests. This kind of wedding gives you more freedom and flexibility, along with more time to spend with those closest to you.
Below are some small wedding venues in Vancouver and the surrounding areas that I love – they all offer unbelievable hospitality and can be customized however you like, giving you the freedom to make your wedding completely your own.
Brix & Mortar is one of my favourite micro wedding venues in Vancouver. I love the gorgeous heritage brick building, the modern Canadian cuisine and the funky-yet-sophisticated vibe.
With a private room for 24 or a heated patio area that can seat up to 34, Brix & Mortar is ideal for couples looking for somewhere elegant but informal. Even smaller wedding parties will have their own space to dine, wine, and celebrate, separate from the rest of the restaurant.
Adventurous couples can’t go wrong with Pacific Yacht Charters – imagine the thrill of chartering a yacht for your friends and family to celebrate your love.
They offer romantic cruising in style, accommodating up to 30 for a seated dinner, and you can even say your vows out on the water. Cruising is such a fun alternative to a regular reception venue, and Pacific Island offers some of the most luxurious all-inclusive micro wedding packages in BC for those who want to be on the water.
For an outdoor ceremony or reception, you can’t go wrong with the Golden Eagle Golf Club. It’s one of the best small outdoor wedding venues in Vancouver for sweeping, inspiring views – and you can even add on a helicopter adventure to travel from your ceremony location to the venue.
Golden Eagle offers a wedding planning team too, helping you with an indoor or outdoor event where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the club and the surrounding areas.
Dreaming of a cozy wedding overlooking the Coast Mountain Range, followed by delicious local cuisine and drinks around the fire? Dolphins Resort, on Vancouver Island, is just so perfect for this – it features luxury log historic cabins with waterfront views, gorgeous gardens, and old-fashioned beauty.
Dolphins Resort is one of the best micro wedding venues in BC for couples looking for a destination wedding amid the natural beauty of Canada, surrounded by a fantastic aesthetic.
Voted the #1 city garden in the world by National Geographic; couples searching for art, culture, and natural beauty on their wedding day, the Sun Yat-Sen Classical Garden is an inspiring choice. Modelled after the famous Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) gardens from the city of Suzhou, this traditional Chinese garden was the first of its kind constructed outside of Asia. It is in the heart of Vancouver and offers both indoor and outdoor weddings in the secret garden, courtyard and pavilion – an evening wedding, lit by lanterns, is incredibly moving and special.
Manning Park Resort is around three hours from Vancouver, but it offers everything you could want from a wedding venue, especially if you’re dreaming of a winter wedding. This stunning country resort in the Cascade Mountains can cater for weddings from 40–140 guests.
Although it’s gorgeous year-round, in winter guests can enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, and tobogganing – so much fun for active couples and their friends! Elopement packages start at a base rate of $2,500 for up to eight people, but contact the team for details on larger wedding parties.
Want to take your guests to new heights – literally? There’s nowhere else quite like the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish.
You and your wedding party will ride the gondola to the summit, taking in the expansive views of Howe Sound. You can say your vows here before celebrating the night away and taking in the majestic sunset from the purpose-built venue, viewing decks and suspension bridge.
The gorgeous aesthetic of Sea to Sky also means so many jaw-droppingly beautiful spots for wedding photos!
Who says a wedding needs to be in a church or reception venue? I love couples who think outside the box, which is probably why I find the Bloedel Conservatory such a cool wedding venue.
This domed tropical greenhouse, found in Queen Elizabeth Park, is a warm, lush paradise home to over 100 exotic birds and 500 plant species. Plus, if you’re looking for affordable small wedding packages in BC, exclusive use of the venue for up to 30 people is just $705.
Getting married in a museum is so unique and fascinating – you’re truly walking through history! The Museum of Vancouver is all about civic history in Canada, but it also offers private indoor and outdoor venues for weddings up to around 100 seated guests.
You’ll enjoy gorgeous views of Vanier Park, and community-minded couples will love tying the knot in such a meaningful place.
The Vancouver Club not only has a stunning rooftop garden in the heart of the city – it also makes wedding planning incredibly easy. With their micro wedding packages, they’re one of the best small wedding reception venues in Vancouver if you want to leave the planning to someone else!
Evening wedding packages for up to 50 guests start at $18,000 (for non-members), but this is an all-inclusive ceremony reception and dinner. Or you can say your vows at the nearby City Hall before cruising over to the Vancouver Club! (How much does it cost to get married at City Hall Vancouver? Their micro wedding packages range from $275–$550.)
