Planning to elope in Brisbane? With luscious landscapes, gorgeous beaches, and fantastic weather all year round, Brisbane is an amazing location to get married. With such great weather, it’s especially ideal for couples wanting an outdoor ceremony, as Brisbane has so many gorgeous locations to offer!
I’ve chosen some of the most stunning elopement venues in Brisbane from breathtaking islands and jaw-dropping natural landscapes to places that’ll transport you into a green oasis, there really is something for every couple!
North Stradbroke Island, known as “Straddie” by the locals, is an easily accessible island that takes you straight onto a beach paradise, just an hour away from the city! This picturesque location is filled with sandy beaches, freshwater lakes, and crystal-clear oceans — perfect for destination elopements or micro-weddings.
If you’ve dreamt of having an island beachfront wedding by the bluest water then this is definitely the spot! The subtropical climate means it has ideal weather conditions most of the year and you’ll likely get an appearance from the local kangaroos and wallabies.
The waterfront is surrounded by rocky cliffs and green gorgeous mountains for some epic North Stradbroke Island elopement photography! They also happen to have a couple of great hiking trails here for adventurous couples who want to view the island from another angle.
This stunning location is just 25 minutes away from Brisbane in D’Aguilar National Park, the ideal location to get away from the busy city life. Be transported into the luscious rainforest and have the most magical day whilst saying your vows in front of your loved ones!
Say “I do” at the Lakeview Stage which is hugged by trees and the sound of the gentle lake flowing beside you which creates a private and intimate ceremony. Have your elopement photos on the wooden boardwalk surrounded by towering trees or by the lake which provides such a stunning backdrop for elopement photography in Brisbane.
You don’t have to worry about organizing anything on the day as their highly trained staff have everything under control, ensuring you have a stress-free day. With four ceremony stages and three reception areas all with views of the Enoggera Reservoir, you’ll love this unique venue!
Coolibah Downs is a private estate on the Gold Coast that has 10 acres of land and is the ideal setting for a magical garden wedding. This all-in-one venue has everything you need to have an unforgettable day from a traditional stone chapel to multiple outdoor locations.
Some of the Coolibah Downs wedding highlights include a lily pond, a large love tree covered in twinkling lights, and a spectacular rainforest which are all picture-perfect settings for your celebrations. This venue has an abundance of greenery — great for couples who want to incorporate the outdoors into their day!
Located at Mt Samson, Lyell Deer Sanctuary is the ultimate wedding location for animal lovers in Brisbane! This venue is ideal for those who want a laid-back celebration where you can put your own spin on the aesthetic of the venue. Here, you can truly appreciate the fresh air and the gentle creatures which roam amongst the 40 acres of the virgin bush!
At the sanctuary, they have three ceremony locations to choose from: Driftwood Arbour, the Paddock with roaming deer, and the Stag Paddock with views of the volcanic rock (from March to August).
Eloping at Lyell Deer Sanctuary means having your own fairytale moment when you walk amongst the deer in the beautiful forest. They’ll even gently nibble some food out of your hand! You’re guaranteed to get some whimsical wedding photographs you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
For the truly adventurous couple, Curtis Falls walking track at Mount Tamborine is a brilliant location for a secret rainforest elopement! There is a bit of a hike to get to the waterfall (about 1.5km) but once there, the views are absolutely breathtaking. I recommend eloping here on a weekday to find a sweet little spot for yourselves (with fewer hikers around)!
With such an amazing location, all you need is yourselves and you can let the rainforest do the rest. At Curtis Falls, lush vegetation surrounds you as you walk up the stone steps — it really is an incredible place to come for a micro rainforest wedding!
With 56 hectares of garden, Mount Coot-Tha Botanic Gardens has an abundance of areas to choose from for stunning Brisbane elopement photography! With features such as a Japanese Garden, the Tropical Dome, a lily pond, a lake backdrop and a bamboo forest, the photo opps are practically endless.
They have three dedicated lawn spaces for your ceremony to be held: you can choose from the tropical Palm Tree Lawn, Fig Tree Lawn which is home to a large tree that provides shade from the sun, and Lychee Lawn which is surrounded by luscious greenery and tall trees. Each location offers a truly timeless backdrop for your wedding photos!
For a small elopement in Mt Coot-Tha Botanic Gardens, there are even more ceremony location options to choose from. From the lake backdrop by the bamboo forest, Lovers Jetty, and the Bush Chapel, there are tons of unique locations to have an intimate and romantic celebration.
New Farm Park is a heritage-listed public park and one of the most popular public spaces in Brisbane to elope. This location is perfect for those looking for a simple, fuss-free and intimate ceremony as the capacity here is up to 20 people.
For micro-wedding in New Farm Park, an elopement under the grand tree is one of the more popular options! During spring the rose garden is in full bloom so would create an epic scene for your big day.
Or how about the Rotunda? Use it as your stage to show off your love. It’s even great for those rainy days as it provides shelter, so you can still have your dream outdoor park wedding in Brisbane without worrying about the weather.
New Farm Park is also one of the small and intimate wedding venues in Brisbane, great for couples that don’t want it to break the bank.
Found in one of the suburbs of Brisbane, Kangaroo Point Cliff is a heritage-listed cliff that offers a perfect balance between city and nature views. It’s a spectacular location for couples who want a riverside elopement! At the top of Kangaroo Point, you get incredible views of the city skyline as well as the city below.
At the bottom, elope on the rocky banks of the tranquil river with wild grass or at Captain Burke Park with the famous bridge in the background. A sunset celebration would be pretty special here! You’ll watch as the golden sun goes down and reflects on the water, creating a warm glow over the entire landscape — perfect for warmer, softer, and glowing wedding celebration pictures.
Just 40 minutes from Brisbane, nestled in the mountains is Rainforest Gardens — a dream location for any couple that wants a tropical paradise celebration! The 27 acres of land is filled with century-old trees, lush gardens, and exotic plants as well as a glistening duck-filled lake and waterfall.
No matter where you look, incredible scenery surrounds this venue full of rich color. It’s a green oasis that brings tranquility and peace making it a great Brisbane elopement location!
If you’re after a rustic country wedding and wondered where to elope in Brisbane, Sirromet might just be the perfect place! Located in Mount Cotton, this family-owned venue is surrounded by rolling hills, tall meadow grass, and acres of vineyards.
They have two ceremony sites: “Laguna” by the river and bushland and “Arbour” amongst the grapevines as well as two reception sites for you to choose from. There are many photo spots such as the vibrant lavender garden which looks amazing in photos or the lagoon and bushland which is slightly further away from the main building. If you’re lucky you’ll be able to spot some wildlife here!
Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens is one of the best small wedding venues in Brisbane for couples wanting an intimate ceremony surrounded by nature. The two outdoor locations have a capacity for 30 guests, which will make you feel like you’re the star of your own fairytale!
“Jacaranda Tree” has a large towering tree and “Waterfall Deck” is a location with the sounds of water just a stone’s throw away. The two locations come with amazing uninterrupted rainforest views with the soundtrack of nature to walk you down the aisle.
Here they have an elopement package for couples who want to invite a few guests. They’ll provide a small grazing platter as well as some styling accessories so everything is taken care of, and you can enjoy your day without any worry!
Located at Cleveland Point, with ocean views of Moreton Bay, The Lighthouse is a great option for those wanting a smaller, peaceful, beachfront celebration. You’ll get breathtaking ocean views that wrap around the iconic lighthouse and it’s great for micro weddings in Brisbane!
Have your ceremony on the green lawns next to the ocean and in front of the lighthouse. Take some iconic lighthouse elopement pictures here, then move to the waterfront or on the sandy beach to capture some romantic, beachy, laid-back pictures.
Sunset is a great time for elopement photos with such expansive views of the sky, we’ll be able to capture gorgeous colors from the sun setting.
